Jungle trek in northern Laos

Venture just outside the historic town of Luang Prabang and you'll find yourself in a world of

jungle-clad mountains and lazy rivers: the perfect stomping ground for hikers. As most visitors stick to the town centre, this is a side of Luang Prabang Province that not many people get to explore. As you leave the town behind, you'll trek through dense vegetation and past a number of small villages, where you can stop to eat lunch with a local family if you choose. The jungle is interspersed with waterways and you can end your trek by catching a boat back into civilization.
