Walking on the mountain ridges can be considered as a meditation with all the attention
channeled in every step one takes climbing to their destination. Trekking in Nepal does not have a long history, having in mind that it all started in 1963 when the country was first opened for foreign visitors. Nowadays, trekkers can enjoy the well paved mountain trails in the Annapurna, Langtang and Everest region or follow the raw, unbeaten paths in the far western and eastern region of Nepal to get an idea of how adventurous trekking used to be in the 60’s and 70’s. There is a variety of treks that range from easy to difficult, but what they have in common is the fact that they all offer magnificent views of the Himalayas and a personal peek into the local people’s culture and lives.
